R.Kelly Owes $4.8 Million In Back Taxes Since 2005

Not only Lauryn Hill got problems with IRS these days. R.Kelly got even bigger problems as he owes $4.8 million in back taxes. The singer allegedly didn’t pay any taxes off his income since 2005. This is how it looks like if broken down:

“$1,472,366.77 from 2005, $710,520.51 from 2006, $376,180.11 from 2007, $1,122,694.90 from 2008, $173,815.18 from 2009 and $992,495.24 from 2010, bringing his grand total to $4,848,072.71.”

The spokesperson for R.Kelly told TMZ:

“R. Kelly is in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all his obligations will be satisfied.”

I’m sure the man got enough money to pay $4.8 million without really hurting his pockets.
In the meantime, R.Kelly will be headlining the Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, which will be taking place from July 15 to July 21.

I just wanna know why celebrities out of all people always have some troubles with paying taxes?!

Lauryn Hill Explains Why She Was MIA For Few Years

We haven’t heard much from Lauryn Hill even since she came back about 2 years ago. With the recent controversy, surrounding her not paying taxes during the three year period from 2005-2007, Lauryn took it to her Tumblr to address the issue and explain why she took a break from the music industry and the world.
The letter is very long, so for those of you who doesn’t feel like reading, I will briefly sum it up. Lauryn basically said that by leaving the music industry, her intentions were never to abandon her fans or music in general. Once she got successful, she realized how corrupted the industry was and she felt that it was necessary for her to step away from it in order to provide a safe and pure environment for her kids, free of any kind of prejudice and injustice.
I’ve been a fan of Lauryn since the very first day and to me her revelation letter is nothing new, because no matter how crazy media was portraying her, I knew she was not crazy. Read the letter below.

“For the past several years, I have remained what others would consider underground. I did this in order to build a community of people, like-minded in their desire for freedom and the right to pursue their goals and lives without being manipulated and controlled by a media protected military industrial complex with a completely different agenda. Having put the lives and needs of other people before my own for multiple years, and having made hundreds of millions of dollars for READ MORE
