Dennis Rodman finally got to meet his estranged father after 42 years of not seeing the man.
Philandre Rodman Jr. has been living in Philippines for almost 50 years and fathered 29 children from 16 different women, came to his son’s exhibition game in Manila. He reached out to Dennis back in 2006 for the first time, but his the former NBA player refused to even talk to him.
This time was different, however, Dennis gladly met his father and shook his hand. He also acknowledged the presence of his father at the game, by grabbing a mic during the break and pointing out at Philandre Rodman.
“I don’t hate the guy that brought me into this world,” said Dennis to reporters earlier. “The fact is, if I saw him, I’ll just tell him, ‘You know, you’re a friend of mine.’”
His father gave him his phone number and Dennis promised to call.
“I really, really felt good,’said Philandre. “It’s the beginning of something new. I’ve been trying to meet him for years. And then last night, boom, I met him. I was really, really happy and very surprised.”
Nice..good luck to both of them.
