NBA Delonte West Got The Job At “Regency Furniture Showrooms”

NBA lockout is making it hard for players. Technically they have few choices with their free time, to go back to college, to go job hunting or do both. And while some get high paid jobs overseas, like Italian Basketball League (hint:Kobe), others don’t have a luxury of leaving United States in the first place.
One of them is former Boston Celtics guard, Delonte West who was applying at Home Depot back in August with hopes to obtain the job to pay the bills during the lockout. He plead guilty to traffic and weapon charges recently, which prevents him from leaving the country. Looks like Home Depot didn’t hire him, however, he had some good news today and tweeted that he was eventually hired by Regency Furniture Showrooms, a furniture chain in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia.

“Applied at Regency Furniture, need a 2nd job to stay afloat during the lockout. I am now an official employee of Regency Furniture.. Check me out on my first day. Just finished a big moving job..Another on the job pic. This is the last one, don’t wanna get fired.”

Hmmmm…who would have thought, right?

The foundation was created back in 2002 by Jay-Z and his mother Gloria Carter. “Focus on what you love. If you don’t apply your all, you’re going to lose focus. Go after what you want and focus on your dreams.Obviously, I love the arts and entertainment. I want you to know what you’re up against ― you’ll always meet someone along the way, just apply yourself and don’t lose focus. You could have a degree in business, but what does that mean? The blue collar jobs that we all relied on are leaving, so you have to do more. You have to focus on what you want.”

As GlobalGrind reports, the carnival raised $950K. Entrance tickets went for a thousand dollars and prizes ranged from Gibson guitars to Nets tickets, a Hublot watch and even a Bentley! Party goers were greeted with bottles of Ace of Spades and classic carnival rides like the Sizzler, the Zipper and amazing food.
